关圣帝君从宋朝开始到明朝十次加封，清朝为了打压岳元帅更是加封不断，可见其历史影响巨大。一部三国演义，更是将关二爷的义推上了巅峰，真是人尽皆知。借一副对联赞扬二爷功绩：
单刀赴会，两报曹恩，桃园三结义，四周会英雄，过五关斩六将，水淹七军，威震八荒，九郡豪杰尽丧胆，虽中十面埋伏，依然称雄百代，流芳千古，后辈万世皆膜拜。
万人敬仰，千年加封，华夏百部史，十分受赞颂，遍九州满八方，统领七宿，横扫六合，五行生克皆在握，掌管四象运转，已是超出三界，黑白两道，只此一人受推崇。
